The update is there is no update. The south coast weather, specifically 100km wind gusts, and projectile trees decided that today would not be a good day to start our 5 month trek after all. Combined talents of wind and tree branches successfully smashed the X-Trail's bumper, indicator, headlight and put a hole through the radiator and air-con compressor. The upshot is that none of this can be repaired and ready for us before 25 July, so no caravan towing for us this month.
The new plan is that we'll head back to Gerringong this weekend in the Hiace camper for a last weekend at the beach. Then we'll head over to Lake Mungo, Murray River and Adelaide, also in the camper, next week and come back for the X-Trail and caravan when the repairs are finished.
